Jamie Ritblat
James Ritblat is chief executive of Delancey, one of the UK's
leading private property investment, trading and development
companies.
Mr Ritblat has spent over sixteen years in the UK commercial
property industry and has gained extensive experience across
a wide and varied range of disciplines. In 1995, he founded
Freehold Portfolios Estates Limited, a UK property consultancy
business which advised companies on investment strategy, acquisitions
and disposals and property financing. In 1998, he sold Freehold
Portfolios Estates Limited to Delancey Estates plc, which
was then listed on the London Stock Exchange and was appointed
managing director. In under four years, Mr Ritblat has built
Delancey into an innovative and entrepreneurial property group
with gross assets under management of approximately £700
million. The group's growth is attributable to corporate acquisitions,
strategic commercial property investments, prudent gearing,
the formation of astute joint ventures and partnerships, and
a profitable development programme encompassing predominantly
retail and Central London office assets.
In addition,Mr Ritblat has led a number of major transactions
including the £170m agreed takeover of Milner Estates
plc, and, together with Fortress Investment Group and Soros
Real Estate Partners, the Company's investment in Mapeley.
In May 2001 Mr Ritblat led the £274 million MBO of
Delancey by Tribeca UK plc, to take the company private.
