Patrick Butcher
Finance Director
Patrick Butcher joined Mapeley as Finance Director in January
2002, after seven years as a Finance Director in the Public
Sector.
Patrick began his career with Deloitte and Touche in Johannesburg,
where he played a key role in setting up a successful group,
providing audit, tax and management consulting services to Financial
Services Clients. Patrick came to London in 1992 with Touche
Ross and was part of the developing Health Sector consulting
team, where he provided advice and support to NHS Trusts on
the financial changes needed to respond to the commercial environment
created by the market driven reforms. This equipped him well
for his first move into a Finance Director role at King's College
Hospital an NHS Trust with Revenues in excess of £200m.
During his time there, Patrick was part of the team that transformed
King's into one of the top ranked hospitals in the country.
He played a key role in the completion of a major PFI project
to redevelop part of the hospital and rationalise the overall
estate.
In 1999 he joined London Underground as Finance Director to
help lead the company through a major period of change and bring
a multi billion pound PPP competition to a close. As director
of Finance he had a wide brief, including commercial property
and facilities management.
Patrick Butcher is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
