Wes Edens
Wesley R. Edens has been the Chief Executive Officer
and a Principal of Fortress Investment Group since co-founding
the firm in 1998. Mr. Edens, together with Peter Briger, oversees
and is responsible for all investment decisions at the firm,
as well as the firm's strategic direction. Mr. Edens is also
responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of
Fortress's private equity funds.
Prior to forming Fortress, Mr. Edens was
Head of Global Principal Finance at UBS Securities LLC (UBS), as well as a
Managing Director of UBS from May 1997 to May 1998. Prior to that, Mr.
Edens was a partner and Managing Director of BlackRock Financial Management,
Inc. (BlackRock) from October 1993 where he headed BlackRock Asset Investors
(BAI), a private equity fund.
In addition, Mr. Edens was formerly a partner and Managing Director
of Lehman Brothers, where he was head of Non Agency Mortgage
Trading.
Mr. Edens received a B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon
State University.
