Mapeley has completed the sale of an office building, Custom House, Newry (22,154 sq ft / 2,058 sq m) in Northern Ireland, to the Hill Partnership. The new owners obtained planning permission for the adjoining site in 2015 and saw the purchase of this 2.866 acre site as an opportunity to enhance their overall development plans for the amalgamated site. The buildings had previously been occupied by HMRC until July 2016.

Following a competitive bidding process Mapeley has successfully completed the sale of the Government Buildings at 11 Chepstow Road in Newport, South Wales. The building sold at above asking price to a local private investor/developer. The new owner intends to refurbish the 35,446 sq ft / 3,293 sq m part occupied building for continued office use.

Joseph Locke House, named after the Civil Engineer who created the West Coast Main Line, has been sold to Doncaster Developments. The new owners have purchased the building with the intention to redevelop it as residential rented flats. The property totals 44,762 sq ft / 4,159 sq m.

Mapeley has successfully completed the sale of The Point, Cheadle, in South Manchester, to Boutinot Wines. The new owners are relocating to Cheadle from Gatley, also in South Manchester. Boutinot Wines are grape growers, wine makers, wine importers, wine suppliers and exclusive agents for over 150 of the world’s finest award winning wine producers. The property will be their new office HQ totalling 18,477 sq ft /1,717 sq m.

Mapeley successfully completed the sale of Crown House in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, to a private investor / developer. The new owner intends to demolish the 14,104 sq ft / 1,310 sqm vacant building and create new retail units on the site.

Mapeley is successfully completing the final phase of HMRC Birmingham’s relocation to 2 Broadway, Birmingham. Phase one of the relocation was completed in April 2014 following refurbishment of the building that encompassed over 11,516sqft / 1,069.87sqm of office space. The final phase, completing shortly, will fill the remaining vacant space totalling 23,032sqft / 2,139sqm. The move allows Mapeley to generate additional revenue on the property.
