Hughes Takes on Mapeley Job

Outsourcing company Mapeley has appointed Robin Hughes to run its Columbus contract with the Abbey National.
Until March, Hughes was a fund manager on Morley's central London portfolio, including the Paddington Central development. Before joining Morley, he worked as an investment agent at CH Hillier Parker, specialising in sale-and-leasebacks.
Mapeley bought the Abbey National portfolio for �457.5m in December 2000. The portfolio comprises 1.160 properties totalling 650,000 sq m (7m sq ft).
Hughes will take charge of the occupational and investment activity across the estate. This includes the Abbey's offices, retail sites and call centres across the UK.
Hughes will report to Mapeley's chief executive Robin Priest.
