Mortgage bank Abbey National said yesterday it was moving its operations into the rented sector. The bank has sold almost all its branch network and other business properties for �457m and arranged to lease them back from Mapeley Columbus, a company with links to international financier George Soros and UK property firm Delancey Estates.
