Robin Priest joined Mapeley in May 1999 after nineteen years in the banking industry.
Over the past thirteen years he has held senior management positions in the structured finance area.
Mr. Priest started his banking career in oil and gas project finance for Continental Bank in London,
the United States and Sydney. In 1982 he joined NM Rothschild's Natural Resources Corporate Finance Team,
advising on extractive projects. He returned to Continental Bank following its acquisition by First Interstate
in 1983 and spent a year in London in the loan syndications group before being transferred to Los Angeles in 1985.
Until 1990 he managed the Bank's Capital Formation Group focusing on leveraged buy-outs and securitisation.
He returned to London in late 1990 as Head of structured placements and the Institutional Investor Group.
In 1995 Mr. Priest joined NationsBank (now Bank of America) as Head of Structured Finance when he became
heavily involved in PFI transactions, notably DSS PRIME. He joined Industrial Bank of Japan in late 1997,
again becoming Head of Structured Finance before joining forces with Soros Real Estate Partners and Fortress
Investment Corporation to form Mapeley.
Robin Priest holds an MA degree in Law from Oxford University.
