Richard E. Georgi is the Global Managing Partner of Soros Real Estate Partners (SREP) and a founder of Mapeley Ltd. Prior to forming
SREP, Mr. Georgi was the Managing Director responsible for Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s Whitehall Street Real
Estate Funds in Europe. Under Mr. Georgi's leadership from January 1995 to January 1999, Whitehall grew
into one of the leading real estate private equity businesses in Europe with more than 30 dedicated
professionals managing approximately $5 billion of assets. On behalf of Whitehall, Mr. Georgi initiated
several operating platforms through which he led the teams that successfully completed dozens of control
transactions in seven countries.
Mr. Georgi was the financial architect of Whitehall's successful bid to acquire the U.K. Department of
Social Security Estate (project PRIME), one of the largest and most innovative real estate transactions
in U.K. history, and led the mobilisation of Trillium, a company incorporated to execute the PRIME
contract. Mr. Georgi was a member of the Whitehall Investment Committee and a recipient of the Innovation
Award in 1996 and 1998.
Mr. Georgi graduated from Williams College where he received a B.A. in political economics and from Harvard
Business School where he received an M.B.A. with distinction.
