Clive obtained a Degree in Building Surveying in 1989, and commenced work as a Building Surveyor in
Sheffield for HSB Partnership. After two years of varied experience and after gaining Chartered Building
Surveyor status he moved to James Clark and Partners Scotland, in Glasgow. He remained with them for five
years during which time he was promoted to Associate Partner. His many clients included: Royal Mail;
Lanarkshire Health Board; Next Plc; Post Office; Private clients. The main projects included refurbishments,
new build, dilapidations, condition surveys and defect analysis.
Clive then moved to Serco where he was employed as an Establishment Works Consultant for the MOD Property
Managers in all of their responsibilities. This included medium term estate strategy, forward planning,
maintenance control and audit, option studies and investment appraisals. He then moved to Dublin, with Serco,
to take up the role of Facilities Manager dedicated to a 100 acre, 80,000 square metres Technology Campus
for IBM. This involved the total management of a complex Facilities Management contract, which included non
core FM activities such as Production Tool Maintenance, as well as Capital Projects.
He joined Mapeley in February 2001, as a Regional Director for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Clive has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Property and Construction Management with Napier
University. He has a broad range of property related skills ranging from detailed activities such as defect
diagnosis and repair, to broader property matters such as strategic estates planning.
