Andrew Smart is responsible for all operational and commercial activity within the Region. A very
experienced manager within the property and FM industry, Andrew has particularly strong experience in
designing and implementing leading edge PFI facilities management and property services solutions.
Andrew trained as a building surveyor and gained experience in commercial estate management, building
design and project management. For the last ten years, Andrew has worked in operational management and
bid management with some of the country's leading facilities management companies. In 1998 he was a
member of the operational management team that mobilised and then managed the facilities management
elements of the DSS PRIME project.
Most recently, before joining Mapeley, Andrew was the Contract Director responsible for a facilities
management contract with the Benefits Agency, worth in excess of �23 million per annum, followed by a
short period with Barclays Bank leading the delivery of facilities management services to its head
quarters properties in and around London.
Andrew has a BSc in Building Surveying, gained with distinction and is a member of the British Institute
of Facilities Management.
